The house is in the heart of the old town (vieux village). The lanes are narrow and cobbled — allow a little extra time on arrival if you’re unfamiliar with the town.

By air

Nice Côte d’Azur (NCE) is the nearest major international airport — approximately 60 minutes’ drive, with excellent connections from the UK and across Europe. The best option for most visitors.

Toulon–Hyères (TLN) is about 70 minutes’ drive and is served by a smaller number of routes, including Ryanair from some UK airports. Worth checking if it’s convenient.

Marseille Provence (MRS) is about 1 hour 45 minutes’ drive and has the widest range of UK connections after Nice. A good option if you can’t get a direct flight to Nice.

Driving from the UK

The most popular route is via the Channel Tunnel or ferry to Calais/Dunkirk, then south on the A6/A7 (Autoroute du Soleil) through Lyon and the Rhône Valley, joining the A8 (La Provençale) towards Cannes. Take Exit 38 – Fréjus/Saint-Raphaël and follow signs for the town centre.

Allow a full day’s drive (around 10–11 hours without stops). Most people break the journey overnight near Lyon or in Provence.

Note: the old town lanes are narrow. A compact or medium car is much easier than a large SUV or van.

By train

The nearest mainline station is Saint-Raphaël–Valescure, about 5 minutes’ drive from the house and well served on the Marseille–Nice–Ventimiglia line. Eurostar connections from London via Paris are straightforward, though a journey from the UK typically takes around 7–8 hours including the change in Paris.

From the station, a taxi to the house takes around 10 minutes.

Parking

Your parking space is in the Florus building, the underground car park beneath the Fréjus tourism office. This is included with the rental.

Full details of the car park access code and space number are in the welcome information at the house. The parking space is a 5-minute walk from the front door — sensible footwear recommended if you have heavy luggage on cobblestones.
